Shades of Ombre'

I decided to revisit this hairstyle because ROOTS are All The Rage these days! My clients have been demanding a low-maintenance, natural sun-kissed color job...and 'voila' OMBRE is the way to go. Ombre is a technique used in the fashion world for the graduated tone of colors on fabrics. I want to showcase the different styles of this trend:

Blonde Ombre

for the committed blonde that wants a soft look

with less maintenance

Brunette Ombre

For the chocolate lovers, with a craving for an

effortless sun-kissed look

Rusty Ombre

For the most settle effect of the dark to light transition

You can work this color technique with any shade that you desire! Check out the 'Galleries' section to uncover some of my clients who have followed the trend.

Paper Or Plastic?!

How about a REUSABLE BAG?! I don't know about you, but I'm tired of storing hundreds of plastic grocery bags under my kitchen sink. I never actually use them twice but I feel terrible throwing them out. Reusable bags reduce waste and can replace 300 to 700 disposable bags a year! So BE GREEN in a beautiful way, check out these functional & affordable bags that can fit in your purse for any unexpected errand. These make for GREAT GIFTS!

BOOTS Are Made For Walking

Want to look BOOTiful this winter?! Here are some of my top picks for dressing up your feet this season...

TALL boots are All The Rage, from the runway to the streets, girls are raising the bar with their chic footwear. If Over-The-Knee boots are too much for you, try a riding boot that stands right below your knees!

My FAVORITE Pair of Boots in my closet:

Steve Madden INTYCE Boot

was $199. now $129

Or add some height with this wedge version

Steve Madden MARYN Boot

was $269. now $199

Stay dry on those RAINY Days and pull on a pair of RAIN BOOTS. Or just add some flare to your outfit on a chilly day with some RUBBER to keep your toes nice and warm!

Jimmy Choo 'Hunter' Rain Boot

These look the same as Jimmy Choo, but they're a fraction of the price!

Aldo DEUELL Rain Boot

It's safe to say that ALMOST everyone owns a pair of UGGs or something alike in their closet. If you're looking to own an alternative to the brand-name, I've found some adorable faux fur booties to adorn your feet!

Sam Edelman ORLANDO Boot

was $199. now $120

These are a MUST!

Old Navy FAUX FUR Boot

As the weather starts to cool down and you pull out those sweaters, pants & boots, you can't forget about the detailed fashion accessories; socks & tights! Most of us own multiple pairs of basic white socks, because you don't plan on showing them off, but why not show a little leg bling?! My favorite go-to legwear accents are the cotton high-knee sock & the patterned lace tights. Here's How:

Pair some high-knee sockies with your favorite riding boots and a dress, show people you're wearing some cute socks! Or try some footless socks with a pair of pumps to make a statement.  AVOID leg-warmers!  Stick to solid color socks if you're wearing patterned clothing, and try adding a splash of color & texture with your socks when wearing basic muted colors.  Check out SockDreams.com for all your sock needs!

If socks aren't your thing, tights are sure to compliment anyone's style! Sure, basic black tights & leggings go with almost anything, but why not take a risk with some prints?! Patterned lace tights make any outfit flirtatious and edgy. Wear them with a dress or some trouser shorts and your favorite closed-toe heels or boots. I recommend Hue.com for a great selection of inexpensive tights and Wolford.com offers beautiful high-end hosiery for those high-rollers!

Feeling spunky?! This bright-tight style is sure to enlighten someone. Stick to colors that compliment your skin-tone: Light Skin- cool colors and Dark Skin-warm colors. You can even wear solid color tights with open-toed shoes or some natural toned flats. AmericanApparel.com has various opaque tights to achieve this style.

The "Dark" Days Are Over

Florence and the Machine's front-woman, Florence Welch, has been turning heads with her epic vocals, quirky melodies and her staple; Fiery RED Hair.  She has made a bold impression, making vibrant RED the color of the season.  Too much for you?  Add some spice to your standard locks with scarlet block coloring, auburn accents or copper highlights and you'll be looking like a Hot Tamale!

Entirely Scarlet

Auburn Accents

Copper Highlights

There are two guilty pleasures that I'm willing to drop some "Benjamins" on; Shoes & Sunglasses. Last year's craze for the Ray Ban Wayfarer style has evolved to the always classic Cat-Eye Sunglasses. There are various styles of the feline frames for each person's unique face shape & style. I narrowed down my top three favorite shades for the Conservative, the Spender and the High Roller. Which one are you?!

The Conservative

BlueDame.com $10

The Spender

Marc by Marc $98

The High Roller

Tom Ford $280

Looking for something new, but not sure what to do?  Bangs can really offer a "pick-me-up" when you're desperate for some change.  Keep your hair in shape & add some flare to your face with a new bang.  There are various options for the face framing tresses; The BOLD, The Long-Layered, The Edgy, The Side-Swept and The Wispy.

The BOLD Bang

If you want a striking difference, this look makes a bold statement

and looks adorable when hair is pulled back.

The Long-Layered Bang

This effect is a very settle way to give shape to a one-length haircut.

The Edgy Bang

Is BOLD too much? Try this fringe, cut with a razor, the look reflects

tons of character and will have you looking sharp!

The Side-Swept Bang

This looks great on short cuts and it's a great way to style

your bangs while growing them out.

The Wispy Bang

Want something more sophisticated? The Wispy is a great way to

keep it soft and focused on the eyes.

What's In Your Bag?

I wanted to share some of my favorite pieces in my makeup bag, so I put them all together on this layout for you to see what I put on my face! I don't wear much makeup these days, but these picks are part of my daily regiment.

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer - AMAZING! This sheer, lightweight moisturizer adds a hint of color & glow to your complexion with SPF 20. Apply this daily as your foundation or add powder with a brush for extra coverage.

NARS Blush - "Orgasm" is a shade that makes cheeks blush a perfect pink-peachy flush tone with highlights of golden shimmer.

MAC Plush Lash Mascara - Plumps, makes lashes look thicker and it goes on smooth and brightens up those eyes.

Dior Lip Glow - This lip balm with SPF 10 responds to the color chemistry of your lips to create a shade that is uniquely your own. My lips tend to turn into a raspberry-pinky shade. Great substitute to those sticky lip-glosses!

MAC Pigment - Two of my fav shade are "Lithe" and "Vanilla." This product adds a shimmery glow & looks great on the inner part of your eyes, high cheek bone & below the arch of your brow.

I'd LOVE to hear what everyone else has in their "BAG"...Post it!
